Rectified Porcelain Tile by Atlas Concorde and Crossville from D&B Featured in Valencia Bay New Home Construction
Suzi Addessa & Associates, a design firm working out of Jupiter and serving all of South Florida, recently completed a major project with a customer who spends the season in Boynton Beach and summers in the Washington, DC area. They built a home on the water and needed help with everything.
According to Suzi, ‘“I was referred to this family by a former customer. The family was building a new home in Valencia Bay in Boynton Beach. They knew they needed help with the interior finishing and furnishings. When we met with the builder, there were items that we wanted that were not offered. We decided to customize the house so we asked the builder to just leave the concrete floors with no covering.
“In the master bath, we asked the builder to just include the standard fixtures and we would make the changes after settlement. Daniel’s Specialties, LLC was the installer and he handled all the installations in the home. Working with the customer, we decided on a grey and white color theme for the house and made our selections from there.
“All rectified porcelain was installed in the tile areas and we opted for the marble-look large format tile. Amazingly, it has a marble appearance but there is a definite non-slip finish which is very important to the customer. The tile was ordered from the D&B West Palm Beach location. The salesperson was Donna.
“The main floor in the lower level was tiled with 24×24 Bianco Dolomite Lappata by Atlas Concorde. Although this tile has a strong marble appearance, it also has a definite slip-resistant finish, which makes it ideal for this active family. The master bathroom was finished in 12×24 Juno Honed Moonstruck rectified porcelain by Crossville as well as 4×24 Juno Bullnose Honed also by Crossville. “Everything went as scheduled. We were very pleased with everyone who worked on the project. Friends and family have seen the home and are all very impressed. I worked with the customer on the furnishings, including wall art. We traveled to North Carolina to purchase furniture.
“Perry Weisberg with State Lighting handled all the lighting in the home, which is very impressive. Everything in the house was custom, including the tray ceiling and even the baseboards.and motorized draperies. We also brought in a low-voltage specialist. The entire home is automated. Yet to be done will be a home office and a summer kitchen, with an expanded patio.
According to the customer, “The D&B personnel were very helpful throughout the entire process, which was complicated since we were in Maryland during the construction. This is our winter home. We were impressed with the amazing choices available to us and the people we worked with couldn’t have been more helpful. We were especially impressed with Suzi’s overall performance on this. If you decide to take a project on yourself, it may be possible, but you will make a lot of mistakes along the way. She kept everything organized and displayed wonderful taste to deliver what we wanted. She gave us choices that pleased us and that made the entire process extremely enjoyable. We couldn’t be more pleased with everything.”
