After the owner of a home in Venetian Isles decided to move to Spain, he opted for a custom pool to help sell his property. Sky Pool Consultant, Inc., a Miami-based pool builder drew up plans for an infinity pool that could be accessed directly from the home’s elevated deck.

Rather than following the natural slope of the property away from the structure, Sky Pool Consultant drew up plans for a rectangular pool and spa, featuring three exposed walls covered with 2”x4” Glass Blox Blue Grotto tiles from Crossville Tile.

The color scheme was followed throughout the pool with smaller Blue Grotto tile outlining the shape of the spa and the edges of the steps inside the pool.

Most are custom designed pools for owners or developers. “We always work with D&B Tile, on all our pool and outdoor projects. They offer a wide selection of tile, marble and stone that we can use for all of these projects and their prices and service are excellent. Most of our work is in Miami-Dade and, depending on the location of the job, we either visit the Doral store or the Palmetto Bay location.

“This pool is faced with 2”x4” Glass Blox tile from Crossville. As a custom
pool builder, we selected Crossville because D&B Tile is the exclusive distributor for this line in all of South Florida and the color and sizes offered were perfect for this project,” said Carlos Tapias, co-owner of Sky Pool Consultant.

“The pool depth is 5.5 feet and extends the entire width of the home. The infinity edge feature occurs when the pool overflows and is constantly recycled throughout the pool.”
