Crossville Design Studio Opens in D&B Tile of Sunrise
Harold Yarborough, President and CEO of D&B Tile Distributors, has announced the opening of a unique 1000 sq ft Crossville Design Studio in the D&B Tile of Sunrise location. “This is a collaboration between myself, store manager Martha Alvarez, as well as Michael Downs and Robert Sutnick with Crossville. Our objective is to segregate the Crossville brand from the rest of the showroom. We wanted to show Crossville in a collective state and have a workstation where we could welcome the design community and our residential customers. The real centerpiece is the workbench in the middle of the showroom, which is covered on all sides by polished Laminam. Behind it, we have an entire wall covered by Laminam which makes a spectacular entrance.
“This Design Studio will be a continual work in progress as we constantly update it to show the latest products offered by Crossville, a leading American distributor of eco-friendly tile products. D&B Tile Distributors is the exclusive source for this line of products in all of South Florida. As its exclusive U.S. distributor, Crossville partners with Laminam, a consolidated System Group company in Modena, Italy, to bring a dramatic new dimension of porcelain tile to American design.”
According to Crossville Representative Robert Sutnick, “The workstation has a storage area for product literature for the entire collection. In this collaborative effort, D&B Tile called upon Jaime Blomquist from Expressive Designs, Inc. We worked with her to provide a selection of products and how they should be presented to show an attractive and functional space. She brings unique perspectives to her varied interior design projects. Ms. Blomquist, a licensed interior designer, earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Commercial Design from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, as well as an Associate’s of Arts Degree in Business Management and Residential Design.
“We have all our products represented here, including the simulated wood flooring with engineered 24×24 and 18×36 tiles on the floor. We have our shades and tone pieces from the Yin and Yang selection of Natura stone products. On the walls, we have more of our grooved glass. It makes for a nice presentation.
“We also have waterfall displays of some of our more popular series and those allow browsers to view
the palettes and sizes and feel the variety of textures offered. One of our main walls has our reclamation wood, which is outstanding and very popular. We think that is an excellent way to show this products. The panels against the walls are to provide some interesting background graphics. There will be foamboards mounted to the front of those to show the different sizes.
“We are excited about this unique design studio space and have had excellent traffic already. Now that it is finished, we welcome all our customers to stop by and see this exciting line for themselves,” said Store Manager Martha Alvarez.
The exclusive Crossville line is featured in all nine South Florida tile showroom locations and authorized dealers of D&B Tile Distributors. Remember the first step to a beautiful design is stepping into D&B Tile.
