Bathroom Remodel Villa Features Crossville by D&B Tile
The Goldmans are snowbirds from Pennsylvania. They purchased their golf course villa in Palm Beach Gardens more than 25 years ago. One of the first things they did was install new flooring – from D&B Tile.
“When I came down here in the fall, I knew that I wanted to remodel one of our bathrooms. I had my colors selected and went back to my original tile dealer from 25 years ago – D&B Tile in West Palm Beach. I’m not an expert when it comes to floors but we bought tile there 25 years ago and it looks brand new today,” said Jeri Goldman.
“I didn’t want to overspend because we are on a budget. When I walked into D&B Tile, I realized that mostly designers shop there. I can understand that because the showroom is overwhelming. The selection of tile styles, brands, colors and textures seem to be unlimited. I knew what I wanted and went through many of the bathroom vignettes. Jessica Jackson spent the time with me to help me select. I did not want to put a horizontal border in my tile. When I looked at that display, I said ‘that’s my wall.’ They had it set up differently than what we did but it provided the inspiration. It was done in a sage green with light tile.
“The floor is a zero threshold. We previously had a tub enclosure. At my age, I wanted to walk straight into the shower. When I chose the tile for the floor, it had to be smaller tiles to fit into the drain. I didn’t want squares. I wanted a natural look so I chose the pebble look. I didn’t want more squares competing with my other tiles.
“I turned to Jessica and said, ‘I want that wall!’ We just had to find some grey to go with it. I was absolutely sure I wanted the white tile. I was told that Crossville has a large plant in Tennessee. D&B shows quality tile from the United States. I like to buy American products.
“Jessica was my onsite designer. We put it all together and I took a photo of everything. I told her it was ‘sold.’ I had selected a grey vanity from another company. However, they didn’t offer delivery and I had to arrange the template for the granite. This was bothering me. I sat down with Jessica to order the tile and I looked over at the wall and saw a floating vanity. I said ‘I want that vanity and that toilet. I’m done.’
“I got everything I needed at D&B with the help of Jessica. This was wonderful. It was easy and fast and I got exactly what I wanted for my bathroom remodel. I am totally pleased. I realized I was going to pay for extra tile because of the diagonal design. I was willing to do it and was able to stay within my budget. My budget was exactly what I spent. The only addition was the floating vanity. I didn’t have a backsplash with the vanity. When the workers came they told me I needed a backsplash. They recommended continuing the tile around the four walls which became enveloped with tiles. I think it was the right decision.
“I was the person from the north who needed a heated floor. Every bathroom in our home in Pennsylvania has heated floors. This is only a 5×9 bathroom. The extras were done because I added items at the end. It was reasonable pricing and greatly improved the look. I wanted the stationary panel of glass. When we traveled to Australia every bathroom was a single panel of glass. That inspired me to do the same thing.
