Laurie Robinson, manager of the Hollywood store, began her career in the tile industry working for a family-owned tile-setting business. Before coming to D&B Tile 12 years ago, she worked for Sikes Tile.
"When I started in the business, there were two choices - bone and white. Now our customers have unlimited variety of colors, finishes and sizes to consider. Our store here in Hollywood is likely the one D&B location that has a higher concentration of retail than wholesale customers. Because of our proximity to the Sawgrass location, most contractors go there.
"This is an exciting time to be in the business. We have so many residential and commercial applications for the tile and homeowners are open to trying something new. D&B has always been in forefront in bringing the newest and latest tiles to our customers. And, we are strong in customer service. I think in the years ahead, we will see an increase in the number of 'company stores.' However, with D&B's commitmentto the customer and continuing education, that is what will separate us from the rest of the tile stores here in Florida."
